If it's done wrong, the paint simply peels a short time later. The popular one is repainting chrome bumpers on cars that have deteriorated. If you're blasting hard enough to remove chrome, you're probably digging into the aluminum, causing even more damage.Ī week ago I was busy reading a ton of pages on doing this to steel. The chrome is also much harder than the aluminum substrate. Even sand will generally just rough up most of the stuff that won't come off. ![]()
